I am a new manager of a team of ~40 account managers and a hot topic at our company right now is which sales metrics we should make public so reps can see how they stack up to each other. A few metrics we've historically kept private include Revenue Generated and Commission Earned. I believe in healthy competition and I believe the majority of the floor would appreciate knowing how they stack up. I'd be really curious to hear feedback from the experts on: 1) the value of making these results-based metrics visible to the whole team, particularly "sensitive" metrics like revenue and commissions 2) how to deal with the reps who feel like their privacy is being violated by making the metrics public.
